HC Deb 03 May 1974 vol 872 c333W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will publish in full the changes in the organisation of the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

As I told the House on 4th April, following decisions reached by the Chief Constable in consultation with the Police Authority the operational command structure of the RUC is being reorganised to provide assistant chief constables with operational commands for regions based on Londonderry, the border areas, and Belfast. There is also to be a reorganisation of the administrative structure at RUC Force Headquarters, involving the creation of a new Department for Personnel and Training headed by an assistant chief constable.
