HC Deb 03 May 1974 vol 872 c576W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the evidence submitted at the trial of James Humphreys and others of allegations that the police had arrangements with James Humphreys and the admitted and proven connections between ex-Commander Drury and Humphreys, he will now cause a further investigation to be made into all aspects of this case.

Dr. Summerskill

I have nothing to add to the answers which I gave to my hon. Friend's Questions on 28th March and 3rd April concerning the allegations about Mr. Humphreys' relationship with Commander Drury. The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis informs me that the investigation under Section 49 of the Police Act 1964 into more recent allegations of an improper relationship between Mr. Humphreys and other police officers is still in progress.
