§ Sir A. Meyerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will convene a conference of chief fire officers in order to discuss a uniform application of the advisory code on fire precautions under the Fire Precautions Act 1971.
§ Dr. SummerskillI have no evidence that such a conference is needed. General problems arising from the implementation of the Act are considered by the Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council, by Her Majesty's inspectors of fire services during their visits to brigades, and as part of the training provided by the Home Office for those officers who enforce the Act.
