§ Mr. Merlyn ReesThe estimate of transfers from United Kingdom sources to Northern Ireland funds in 1973–74 is as follows:

Payment to National Insurance Fund of NI 30 289 Since 31st December 1973 the cost of law, order and protective services has been borne by the Northern Ireland Office out of money provided by Parliament; the estimated cost for the last quarter of 1973–74 is £20 million. In addition the Northern Ireland authorities borrowed £66 million from the National Loans Fund in 1973–74.
