asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what has been the trend in United Kingdom imports, production, consumption and stocks of cheese over the most recently available six-month period.

None. Under powers conferred by the Council of Ministers the Commission collects information about imports of certain fruits and vegetables and in specified circumstances is required to introduce a countervailing charge. Under these arrangements the following charges have been imposed since 1st March 1974.

The Community's market organisation for fresh fruit and vegetables includes safeguard measures to protect growers from abnormally priced imports. We have no present proposals to strengthen those measures.
