HC Deb 29 March 1974 vol 871 cc219-20W
Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on his policy towards help for the Royal Photographic Society to prepare a register of existing photographic collections in a central catalogue.

Mr. Hugh Jenkins

The Government's support for the arts, including the photographic arts, is channelled through museums and galleries, the Arts Council, the British Film Institute and other similar bodies, and for archives primarily through the British Library and the museums. I do not envisage any direct support to the Royal Photographic Society for this purpose.
