asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he is taking designed to secure the release of Israeli prisoners of war detained in Syria.

As my right hon. Friend will be aware, there are shortly to be discussions in Washington about disengagement on the Golan front. We trust that these will lead to an early exchange of prisoners between Syria and Israel.
