§ Mr. Biffenasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is satisfied with the present incidence of fuel taxes within the EEC in its effect on competition in horticultural products; what talks he has had on this topic at recent metings of the Common Market Council of Ministers; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MoyleWe are satisfied that, as British horticultural producers are entitled to a full rebate of duty on heavy hydrocarbon oils used for heating production buildings, they are not affected adversely by varying rates of taxes on fuel in other EEC member countries. My right hon. Friend accordingly saw no reason to raise the question of fuel taxes at the recent meeting of the Council of Ministers.
