HC Deb 26 March 1974 vol 871 cc103-4W
Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will give an assurance that the review that he has announced of the Maplin Airport project will not extend to consideration of the proposal of the East Midlands area group of Labour Members of Parliament that this project should be moved to the site of the East Midlands Airport at Castle Donington.

Mr. Clinton Davis

I have been asked to reply.

I cannot anticipate the outcome of the review, but we attach particular importance to the development of regional airports and the review will be examining the extent to which their traffic can be encouraged.
