asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consideration has been given to arranging for all retirement pensioners' order books to be overstamped with the £10 and £16 amounts payable as and from the given or stated date; and whether she will take action along these lines immediately.

As only about one-third of retirement pensioners are paid at the standard rate a simple over-stamping of the new rates such as my hon. Friend suggests would not be practicable.
