§ Mrs. Fennerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in view of the rapid growth of population in the Medway area, what her plans are to accelerate health service provision.
§ Dr. OwenHealth services provision in the Medway area is the responsibility in the first instance of the South-East Thames Regional Health Authority. I am assured that its plans for these services in the area will take account of the growth of population there, but at the same time the rate of expansion or improvement must depend upon both the resources available to the authority and the demands made upon them.
