asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he can now state the total estimated capital cost of the proposed Tyneside Rapid Transit System at the price levels prevailing in the last quarter of 1973.

My Department has asked the Tyneside Passenger Transport Executive for such revised estimates. I will write to the hon. Member shortly.
