HC Deb 21 March 1974 vol 870 cc158-9W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether, in the application of his incomes policy, he will ensure that company directors are subject to the same rules regarding salary increases as are their employees.

Mr. Booth

The remuneration of company directors remains subject to the pay code until the Pay Board and associated statutory controls are replaced by methods to secure the orderly growth of incomes on a voluntary basis. The remuneration of company directors is among the many forms of incomes which we are considering in determining the terms of reference for a Royal Commission on Incomes.
