HC Deb 18 March 1974 vol 870 c51W
Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will take steps to improve the position of widows who have paid national insurance for pensions in their own right and have derived no benefit thereby following the death of their spouse.

Mr. O'Malley

As we have made clear, the position of women in social security is a matter to which we shall give special and sympathetic attention in the comprehensive review of pensions which we are undertaking.
