asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has instructed the Director of the Royal Scottish Museum to abolish admission charges.

The arrangements for ending admission charges at the Royal Scottish Museum will be announced shortly.

Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has notified the boards of trustees of the Scottish national galleries and museums that he would raise no objection to their abolition of admission charges to the institutions for which they are responsible.

I am consulting the Trustees of the National Galleries of Scotland and the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland about the arrangements for ending admission charges at their institutions.
