HC Deb 18 March 1974 vol 870 c48W
Mr. MacCormick

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to reduce freight charges on sea transport in the west of Scotland.

Mr. William Ross

The Government will be giving substantial financial support to sea transport services to the Scottish islands, both through grants and loans for the provision of modern vessels and terminals and through the provision of operating subsidies for uneconomic services.
