§ Mr. Biffenasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how he proposes to maintain the objectives of farm income set out in the Agriculture Act 1947 during the period of renegotiation of the common agricultural policy.
§ Mr. PeartOur intention is to encourage the maximum economic production of food by the United Kingdom farming industry in the interests of the national economy. We shall seek to achieve this by expanding an efficient industry and creating the conditions under which farmers will get a fair return for their produce.
