§ Mr. John Ellisasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is satisfied with the workings of the permits of exemption system under the Agricultural Wages Act 1948.
§ Mr. BuchanI am aware that there are some misgivings about this; and I have accordingly invited the Chairman of the Agricultural Wages Board to undertake a review of the operation and effectiveness of the present arrangements for administering these permits with a view to considering whether any improvements are necessary and, if so, what form they should take.
