§ Mr. Redmondasked the Secretary of State for Energy what safeguards he proposes to introduce, following the coming into force of the statutory instrument Gas (Declaration of Calorific Value) (Amendment) Regulations 1974 (S.I., 1974, No. 847), to ensure that the general public can check and understand their gas bills.
§ Mr. VarleyI am satisfied that as and when metric reading gas meters are installed adequate arrangements will be made to enable consumers to check and understand their bills.
