§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Secretary of State for Industry what discussions he has had with the Price Commission regarding the increase in charges for Post Office telephone services, and with what result; and what is his estimate of the cost to the Post Office of revenue forgone through the scaling-down by the commission of increases in charges which would otherwise have been introduced.
§ Mr. BennThe Price Commission has told me of its decision that the increase in charges for the Post Office's telecommunications services should be restricted to 14.7 per cent. I understand that this will reduce the yield from the increases proposed by the Post Office by some£60 million in a full year.
