§ Mr. Denis HowellThe Government are continuing to support the maintenance by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority of a small research and development capability aimed at discovering more economic methods of desalination. There is still no reason to think that desalination to augment water resources will be economically practicable on any scale in this country for the foreseeable future.
