HC Deb 24 June 1974 vol 875 c323W
Mr. Mather

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what action was taken by Scotland Yard, following the receipt of a message from the Daily Express on Sunday 16th June at 11.15 p.m., that a caller claiming to be a spokesman for the Provisional Sinn Fein had given warning of a multiple assassination attempt at the Houses of Parliament on the following day.

Dr. Summerskill

The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis tells me that the Palace of Westminster was searched, and police officers on duty at the Palace on 17th June were warned of the possible threat.
