HC Deb 21 June 1974 vol 875 c301W
Mr. Alan Lee Williams

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what consultation has taken place with Asian Commonwealth countries concerning renegotiation of the terms of entry into the EEC.

Mr. Hattersley

I have been asked to reply.

The Asian Commonwealth countries will be aware of our renegotiation aims as set out in the statements of my right hon. Friend in Luxembourg on 1st April and 4th June. We shall continue to keep in close touch with them over points which are of concern to them—for example, the Community's Generalised Scheme of Preferences and the arrangements for continued imports of Commonwealth sugar.
