HC Deb 21 June 1974 vol 875 c302W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many objections he has now received to the South of Scotland Electricity Board's application for a nuclear power station at Chapeldonan; and if he will now order a public inquiry.

Mr. William Ross

I have received 48 objections, including one petition, to the South of Scotland Electricity Board's application under Section 2 of the Electric Lighting Act 1909 to construct a nuclear power station at Chapeldonan. Two objections have been received in response to the serving of notices by the board under Section 24 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1972. I have not yet reached a decision on further procedure.
