asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the average number of patients allocated to dentists in Gillingham; and how this compares with the whole of Kent.

Under general dental services arrangements patients are not allocated but may seek treatment from a participating dentist anywhere. The ratio of residents of Gillingham borough to dentists practising there is 4,863: 1. The corresponding ratio for Kent is 4,068:1.
