HC Deb 19 June 1974 vol 875 c160W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether the members of the security forces receive a medal for service in Northern Ireland; and under what conditions they receive any such award.

Mr. William Rodgers

A campaign medal—the General Service Medal and Clasp Northern Ireland—has been awarded to members of the Services and certain specifically approved civilian organisations since 14th August 1969. The details of the award are set out in Special Army Order No. 65 issued by Her Majesty's Stationery Office on 8th November 1971.
