HC Deb 19 June 1974 vol 875 c182W
Mr. Donald Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will instruct her Department to open an office in the Uist-Benbecula area of the Western Isles.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

The arrangements for the Department's services in this area, together with those in other more remote parts of the north and west of Scotland, are under review. The results of the review are expected shortly. I shall write to the hon. Member as soon as possible. In the meantime I am satisfied that an adequate service is being provided from Stornoway.
