HC Deb 12 June 1974 vol 874 cc551-2W
48. Mr. Maxwell-Hyslop

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment why the hon. Member for Tiverton has received no reply from him to a letter dated 8th April 1974 concerning a petition signed by residents in the Dawlish area on the subject of the rate burden arising from his alteration of the rate support grant, although his office acknowledged receipt of both the letter and petition six weeks ago.

Mr. John Silkin

The hon. Member's letter called only for an acknowledgment, which was sent on the day after receipt. Nevertheless a very full letter was also sent on 29th May. Letters on the same issue were sent on 23rd May and on 6th June.
