§ 26. Mr. Churchillasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement following the recent conference in the United States of America concerning the safety levels of exposure of workers in the chemical industry to toxic materials including vinyl chloride.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerI assume that the hon. Member is referring to a meeting of the New York Academy of Sciences on 10th and 11th May. In reply to a Question from my hon. Friend the Member for Huddersfield, West (Mr. Lomas) on 17th May I announced that the Chief Inspector of Factories had invited the TUC and the CBI to discuss the preparation of a code of practice for limiting exposure to vinyl chloride. The first meeting is to be held on 14th June.
