§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what conditions were attached to the permitted closure of the casualty department at Poplar Hospital; and if she is satisfied that they were complied with before those facilities were withdrawn.
§ Dr. OwenThe Casualty Department at Poplar Hospital was closed temporarily by the North East Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board because in its opinion the level of staffing at the hospital was not adequate to ensure the safety of patients.
