HC Deb 10 June 1974 vol 874 cc474-5W
Mr. Moonman

asked the Prime Minister if he is now in a position to give the names of the members of the Royal Commission on the Press.

The Prime Minister

No. But I hope to announce the names soon.

Mr. Moonman

asked the Prime Minister if he will ask the Chairman of the Royal Commission on the Press to prepare an interim report within six months of the first meeting of the commission.

The Prime Minister

No. But as I told the House on 2nd May —[Vol. 872, c. 1322-32.]—the Royal Commission will be free to submit interim reports or recommendations, if it considers that there are matters within its terms of reference which ought to be dealt with urgently, before its final report is available.
