HC Deb 10 June 1974 vol 874 c456W
Mr. Warren

asked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will introduce legislation to ensure that the Civil Service pension scheme provides for the direct acceptance of benefits accrued by recruits joining the Civil Service from the Armed Services and similar arrangements for those members of the Civil Service who wish to transfer to the Armed Services.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

The pension scheme for members of the Armed Forces is currently being revised. The new scheme will include the necessary powers to pay and receive transfer values. Interchange not only with the Civil Service scheme but also with any other scheme which is prepared to agree reciprocal terms will then be possible. Specific legislation will not be necessary.
