§ Mr. John Ellisasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many veterinary officers are employed in his Ministry; and how many of these are field veterinary officers.
§ Mr. PeartOn 1st July 1974 there were 550 staff at all professional levels employed in the State Veterinary Service. This figure includes a few non-veterinary surgeons engaged on research work in laboratories. Of the total number of 550, 379 were designated field staff as opposed to those in research laboratories and veterinary investigation centres.
