§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales what steps have been taken by the Welsh Office in relation to replacing or strengthening Pont Seiont, in Caernarvon, on the A487 trunk road; how many different realignments are under consideration; and when does he anticipate that work will be commenced and completed on any such schemes.
§ Mr. RowlandsMeasures have been taken to strengthen the existing bridge by shoring. Consulting engineers have been appointed to investigate schemes to provide a new trunk road crossing together with the necessary approach roads and their report is awaited. It is too early yet to say when work mignt start.
