§ Mr. Edward ShortNo.
§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Lord President of the Council if he will make, or cause to be made, a full statement on the reasons for the stoppage of work that has disrupted the supply of papers to Parliament.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonI have been asked to reply.
The stoppage of work that has disrupted the supply of papers to Parliament has resulted from industrial action taken by members of the National Graphical Association in Her Majesty's Stationery Office printing works to further a claim for increased pay and changes in working conditions. The action has taken place following the rejection by the National Graphical Association of an offer made by Her Majesty's Stationery 357W Office during the annual review of the house agreement which covered the pay and conditions of the main printing unions.
