HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 cc322-3W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will now make a statement on his policy regarding the future of the projected Maplin motorway, in the light of the fact that no decision has yet been taken on the Maplin seaport.

Mr. Crosland

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to a Written Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Basildon (Mr. Moonman) on 4th April—[Vol. 871, c.429–30.] I have no proposal to construct the London-Maplin motorway and high-speed rail link, and none of the route corridors that had been suggested is being safeguarded.
