HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 c395W
Mr. Jim Lester

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many dialysis beds are available in the Nottingham Area Health Authority.

Dr. Owen

Eight.

Mr. Jim Lester

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how the current date for the completion of the Nottingham Regular Dialysis Unit compares with the date originally anticipated in 1971.

Dr. Owen

Completion in 1976 was originally anticipated, it is now expected in December 1977.

Mr. Jim Lester

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proportion of patients suitable for treatment with regular dialysis or transplantations and seen in the Nottingham Hospital in 1970 received treatment, compared with the national average for that year; and how these figures compare with those most recently available.

Dr. Owen

Information in the form requested is not available. Patients in the Nottingham area suffering from chronic renal failure are seen locally and referred where necessary for treatment to dialysis centres within the Trent Region or elsewhere.
