HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 c414W
Mr. Leslie Huckfield

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proposals she has in mind to increase the provision of dental services under the NHS in areas where such facilities are inadequate.

Mrs. Castle

The Working Party on the Dental Services has recently recommended that in such areas—initially on an experimental basis—a special scheme of remuneration, a mixture of basic salary and incentive bonus, should be introduced to encourage the provision of general dental services. My right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Wales and I accept this constructive proposal and will be discussing the details with the British Dental Association as soon as possible.
