HC Deb 31 July 1974 vol 878 cc234-5W
Mr. Kinnock

asked the chancellor of the Exchequer what conditions he has attached to the agreement to reschedule the repayment of interest on debts owed by Chile to Great Britain; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dell

The agreement for the rescheduling of child's debt to the United kingdom will be upon the terms agreed multi-laterally in paris in March. It will follow broadly the same lines and impose the same conditions as the 1972 bilateral agreement between Chile and the United Kingdom (Cmnd 5209). It is expected that the agreement will be singed shortly. I might add that since coming into office the Government have played a leading part in pressing the Government of Chile in the restoration of human rights.
