§ Mr. MeacherThe Minister of State for Industry's 24th July meeting with the British Textile Confederation covered a variety of questions of interest to the United Kingdom textile industry. During these discussions the confederation representatives informed the Minister of State for Industry that their preliminary assessment was that they considered United Kingdom withdrawal from the EEC would adversely effect the United Kingdom textile industry.
