HC Deb 30 July 1974 vol 878 c113W
Dr. Reginald Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what administrative arrangements have been made to police the sea area under the command of the naval port of Portsmouth in order to secure public conformity to the restrictions already announced on the driving of high-speed motor boats through areas of sea bathing, swimming and other such occupations.

Mr. Judd

The area of the dockyard port of Portsmouth is regularly patrolled by a Ministry of Defence Police launch. Action is taken as necessary to secure observance of the port speed limits and to bring action against offenders. Bathing areas which are marked by the local authorities are advertised in local Notices to Mariners issued by the Ministry of Defence.
