HC Deb 30 July 1974 vol 878 cc146-7W
Mr. W. E. Garrett

asked the Lord President of the Council if he will consider making arrangements for insurance facilities for Members and Members' secretaries against injuries or loss of life within the precincts of the Palace of Westminster.

Mr. Edward Short

Except for the special arrangements which apply when Members travel on the business of the House, insurance for themselves and their secretaries is a personal liability. This is, however, a matter which could be considered by the Boyle Committee in its next review of Members' pay and allowances.
