Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will print in the OFFICIAL REPORT the total number of families claiming the family income supplement for each quarter since the scheme's inception; and if she will denote for each quarter the nunmber of wage-stopped claimants.

Mr. O'Malley

As family income supplement awards are paid to the nearest multiple of 10p it is not possible to provide information about payments in units of 25p. The following table relates to the end of March 1974.
