HC Deb 29 July 1974 vol 878 cc93-4W
Mr. O'Halloran

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what proposals he has to increase the rate of house building in the Belfast area of Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Concannon

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive is pressing ahead with its programme of new building and slum clearance. It is planned to complete 450 dwellings in 1974–75 and about double that figure in 1975–76. In addition, the Housing Executive has been making efforts to improve the arrangements for repairing its existing housing stock including the large number of older houses acquired in advance of redevelopment.
