Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) whether he has any plans to meet representatives of the Farmers' Union of Wales during the coming months;

(2) whether he has any plans to meet representatives of the National Farmers' Union in Wales during the coming months.

Mr. Bishop

My right hon. Friend met representatives of the agricultural unions in Wales during his visit to the Royal Welsh Show on 24th July, but he has no plans at present for any further meetings. Under the arrangements for the administration of agricultural affairs in Wales, such meetings would normally be undertaken by my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Wales.
