§ Mr. Geraint Howellsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much beef is to be imported into the United Kingdom from the EEC during the next six months.
§ Mr. BishopThe amount imported will depend on a number of factors but primarily the commercial judgment of our meat trades.
During the first six months of 1974 imports of beef from other EEC countries were estimated at some 57,000 tons compared with imports of 22,000 tons during the same period in 1973. Imports during the next six months are expected to continue at a higher level than in 1973.
