§ Mr. Denis HowellThe Alkali and Clean Air Inspectorate is responsible for the control of emissions to the atmosphere only from works registered under the Alkali Act. I am satisfied that it is capable of monitoring those emissions. The Inspectorate is not responsible for monitoring waterborne pollution.
