§ Mr. StrangAt present all the thick wall, large diameter steel pipe required for submarine lines for oil in the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea is purchased from abroad. However, about 20 per cent. of the gas pipelines laid in the southern part of the North Sea has been supplied by the United Kingdom steel industry.
