§ Mr. Temple-Morrisasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in view of the fact that the boundary of the Lugg Internal Drainage Board was last determined in May 1945, since which time there have been considerable changes in population, if he will consider reviewing the situation to ensure the most equitable payment of drainage rates.
§ Mr. BishopThe initiative in seeking changes in drainage district boundaries rests with the water authority or the drainage ratepayers. The Land Drainage Committee of the Welsh National Water Development Authority can at any time review the boundaries of the River Lugg internal drainage district and submit a scheme to the Minister for altering them. If the boundaries have not been reviewed during the last ten years a body of drainage ratepayers can also petition the water authority under Section 36 of the Land Drainage Act 1961 asking for this to be done. The review would take account of any changes there may have been, including urban development, since the boundaries were last altered or reviewed.
