HC Deb 23 July 1974 vol 877 c448W
Mr. Jasper More

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied that registration officers are fully equipped with sufficient electoral registers and postal vote cards; and whether registration officers have been appointed by all the new councils and are ready to operate.

Dr. Summerskill

The supply of registers and the appointment of registration officers are matters for which responsibility rests with electoral registration officers and district councils—in London, borough councils—respectively. Although there have been minor delays in obtaining stocks of stationery for the canvass for the electoral register later this year, I understand that no problems are now foreseen on that account.
